Stress physiology in conservation: predicting human impacts on wildlife

Michael Romero

Successful conservation of at-risk species requires identifying problems before they impact population numbers. Prof. Michael Romero will present data from his and other labs that are using stress physiology as a way to assess what human activities are likely to impact population numbers. The goal is to be able to use stress physiology as a predictor in a conservation context. The focus will be on empirical measurements of stress hormones as well as theoretical modeling.
